Just fitting God In, Is Better Than Leaving Him Out Altogether.

Sometimes I stress about not keeping up with friends when life is crazy. When all I can manage is a text or a Facebook message, or a random like on Instagram, to make sure they know I haven’t forgotten them. Sometimes they won’t even know, but I sent up an arrow prayer for them instead.

I feel worse when it is someone close to me that I can’t fit in. Someone that deserves more. Someone that, in a perfect world, would get a candle lit dinner, scintillating conversation, and hours of love making but gets a quick cuddle instead.

The wonderful thing is that those who love me know, that it won’t always be this way, they appreciate the moments and they look forward to picking up where we left of the moment things settle down.  They know this is as close as we’ll get to perfection, for the time being.

I have learned that God is gracious like that. He is glad just to be kept in the loop sometimes. He is secure in our relationship. He is humble. He is generous.

It is only me who is tempted sometimes to do nothing at all, because just a little cannot possibly be enough. But God is not like that.

All God needs is for us to turn, towards Him. Just our face is enough. All He needs, is us to come to Him. Just showing up is enough. All he asks is that we do not refuse him. Just saying ok is enough.

In return, He gives. He gives us all of Himself. He gives us perfect rest and He gives us life to the full.

Isaiah 45:22 says,

“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.

Matthew 11:28 says,

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

John 5:40 says,

Yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

Just fitting God in, is better than leaving Him out altogether. It is enough, God will do the rest. He does not need our performance. Just us.

I encourage you today to fit God in. In amongst whatever you must do, not in amongst what you will put off doing.

Do not be afraid or ashamed to give God just you. You are enough. Just turn up, let Him bless you. Just turn your face to Him, let Him smile at you. Just say, “Ok,” let Him give you life to the full!

Be blessed, be encouraged, comment, like or share this post and pray today.

Lots of love,

Being constantly ill, makes coming to God a difficulty, but I was comforted by the reminder of Matthew 11.28
which I remember from days gone by…. Come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I will
give you rest……. shall try to find a way to do that once more…….

I think we lose our confidence when we feel we are no longer able to be ‘fun’ companions for whatever reason. We lose social confidence and that can spill over into relating to God. But God does not need a sparkling personality or the best night ever, dancing and singing together. He just wants to be with us. A bit like when you first loved someone and just sat side by side looking at a view, touching fingers. It was just time together. You just appreciated being in the presence of someone you loved who loved you in return. When we turn to God, face him, take a step in his direction, say “Yes, I’ll meet you here,” he is the one who shows up and gives all, he organises the amazing view etc. We can just appreciate being in His presence, appreciate being loved and being able to love in return. Bless you today Billie. L

Thank you, Lauren, for your blessings and love. I try, it is still just that bit too out of reach for me at the
        moment, but I try…

Just opening the door to let God love you is a great place to start. Good on you Billie, God sees you, he knows your capacity, he does not hold you up beside people with energy and loads of health, so you don’t need to either, don’t stress about how much or how little you can manage.. God looks at you, he sees you, he loves you, he loves it when you want to see him and love him. Keep Him close let him work out the details. Lots of love today, L
