Yesterday I began this post with Part 1, you can read it here. I explained the story behind today’s post.
Today I am posting the first song that I wrote in a series of songs. It was a very difficult song to write. It came out of sadness and regret after God had said, “No, Stop,” to something I loved.
I hope it encourages you if you are ever feeling low, to give thanks, to praise, to be joyful and to hope. Most of all I encourage you to Sing!
Rejoice for the Lord is near.
Song of Thanksgiving
Oh my soul,
Why so low?
Crushed and broken
On the ground.
Oh my tears,
How you flow.
Fears and mortal enemies,
Sick and sadness
Overwhelm me.
Yet I will sing.
Chorus
This is my song of thanks
To my God and Saviour.
This is my song of praise
This is my song of joy
My song of hope
Christ in me the hope of glory
Oh my soul lift your voice
He’s the God of the Angel Armies
And His Anthem is, “Rejoice!”
I have the power of the resurrection
Living in my veins
I have the hope that is the name of Jesus
And I will sing again
Chorus
This is my song of thanks
To my God and Saviour.
This is my song of praise
This is my song of joy
My song of hope
Be encouraged, be blessed. Sing to the Lord a new song today!
Lots of love,
L.
