I Am – A Worship Song

Moses saw the firelight

The burning bush

The flames were bright

the fire bright did not consume

No ash no char

No smoky plume.

“So what’s the meaning?” Moses said.

“Take off your shoes

And lift your head

It’s holy ground.”

“Who are you Lord?”

Then came the voice resounding

“I am.”

Chorus

Be still and know that I am God

The Lord himself, will fight for you,

Be still

Here we stand

We raise our hands

Still my heart

Lord

Here we stand

We raise our hands

Let you fight

Lord

Jesus spoke and those who heard

Would not believe

A single word.

“I am the bread, I am the light,

The door, the way,

The truth and life.”

“So what’s the meaning?” They all said.

“I am alive

After I’m dead

I am the vine.”

“Who are you Lord?”

“I am the gate, and I’m your wine

I am.”

Chorus

Be still and know that I am God

The Lord himself, will fight for you,

Be still

Here we stand

We raise our hands

Still my heart,

Lord

Here we stand

We raise our hands

Let you fight

Lord

We held you very lightly Lord

We turned away

Ignored your word.

Without you there was emptiness

Where our hearts beat, inside our chest.

“So what’s the meaning?” We all said.

“I am alive!”

But we were dead,

Until you came,

“Who are you Lord?”

“You know me child, you know my name,

I am.”

Be encouraged today to know the Lord your God, who was and is and is to come, who is the same yesterday, today and forever, the Great I am, slow to anger and abounding in love. He came to give you life and life to the full. Be blessed by His grace and mercy today.

Lots of love,

L
