God Has A Story to Tell; Morning and Evening…

adult-blur-church-1309052

Today I am posting a prayer that I wrote for morning and evening. Someone once said in a talk that I heard that they literally took life one day at a time, by placing a one page per day desk calendar on their bedstand. They would wake up and ‘face the day’ and pray that it would be entirely in God’s hands. At night they would pray, ‘give the day back to God,’ then tear that day off the calendar, scrunch it up, put it in the bin, and shut their eyes.

This is a prayer like that, a wake up and give God in everything prayer, and a give it all back before you sleep prayer.

Be encouraged, be blessed as you do just that today.

Lots of love,

L

Morning

I am convinced that you alone are God

And I will be still

For you have  a story to tell

As the dawn breaks

Before the morning star fades

You are speaking

Waking the world with a quiver through the trees

Before the first bird calls you have your say

You speak hope

You speak peace

You speak joy into the brand new day

You speak your mercy new every morning

To my heart

Here I am Lord

Thank you

Send me

Evening

I am convinced that you alone are God

And I will be still

For you have a story to tell

As the sun sets

And the moon dances on the waves

You are speaking

As the wind polishes the sky of dust

In the hush you will have your say

You speak love

You speak faith

You speak forgiveness into the deeds of the day

You speak your grace new every evening

To my heart
Here I am Lord
Thank you
Rest me
