Proverbs 10min. Challenge (Proverbs 15)

bed-bible-book-bindings-935944Let’s talk about the physicality of Scripture!

The beautiful Hazel from Pure Glory blog, encouraged me in a comment to speak scripture into my bones, after reading my recent post Y?. It is that exchange that inspired this study.

Today for my 10 minute Challenge I’m going through Proverbs 15 looking for Scriptures that bring health, not just to the spirit but to the soul and the body. I’m looking for truth, about our intellect, our emotions, and about our physical body.

Healing words from Proverbs Chapter 15 to learn, remember and speak into ourselves and others.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

Q: Am I speaking gently, and soothingly, into people, situations and myself?

A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

Q: What kinds of wrinkles will I have when my face is old? Will my spirit be whole or crushed?

All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

Better a small serving of vegetables with love

Than a fattened calf with hatred.

Q: What flavour is my food?

A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.

Q: How does my presence affect people?

The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.

Q: Does life seem thorny? Or is the road ahead clear? Is this a reflection of my physical body? Is it a reflection of my character?

Folly brings joy to one who has no sense, but whoever has understanding keeps a straight course.

Q: What vices do I have? Is it really joy or is it just escape for a moment that they bring? What do I need to understand in order to give them up?

The greedy bring ruin to their households, but the one who hates bribes will live.

Q: What am I greedy for? How does it ruin me? How does it ruin the rest of the house hold? Do I use or accept bribes? What re-training do we need?

Light in the messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

Q: Do I bring Good News & light?

Whoever heeds life giving correction will be at home among the wise.

Q: What correction for my body or soul have I received that I am I currently ignoring?

Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.

Q: What disciplines need to be put in place?

Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.

Humble me Lord.

Be encouraged to speak scripture into being; yours and other’s physical being! Be blessed as you see the fruit of healing, transformed relationships, emotional and physical strength and fullness of life!

Lots of love,

Lauren, beautiful study! The Word brings life and health, wherever it goes. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 Thank you for your kind mention. Much love and hugs! Hazel
